Whether we are needed in the hospital or in an outpatient setting, we are proficient in virtually all subspecialties of Anesthesiology. We have anesthesiologists within our group who have trained and are board certified in all aspects of the specialty. This includes pediatrics, obstetrics, cardiac, pain management, and critical care. We also are experienced in several fields that are not frequently found in a community private practice setting. This includes hyperbaric medicine, as well as bloodless medicine. These and other aspects of our practice are actively involved in original research, and our chief is one of the foremost experts internationally in the field of bloodless medicine and surgery. Several members of our group have been accepted as speakers and presenters at national meetings.
This means that there are virtually no procedures that are limited by our lack of expertise.
Preparing the patient for anesthesia
Our goal is that every scheduled procedure can be accomplished without delay or complication. Therefore, we have spent time educating the surgeons and medical physicians at Englewood Hospital and Medical Center regarding our techniques and expectations. While virtually no surgery need be cancelled because the patient is "too sick", we also expect every person having surgery to be optimally prepared before arriving in the operating room. One way this has been possible is the creation and implementation of our pre-anesthesia clinic. There, patients are interviewed and examined by specially trained nurse practitioners and laboratory data are reviewed or ordered as needed. Anesthesiologists are available as needed for this clinic.
Ambulatory Surgery
While we are proud of our many subspecialties and abilities to handle complex cases, we have many anesthesiologists who spend most of their time treating healthy adults and children for same day surgery cases. Our experience in this field is extensive, and we strive very hard to ensure every patient have as safe and pleasant experience as possible
